iStat Menus lets you monitor your system right from the menubar. Included are 8 menu extras that let you monitor every aspect of your system.

Excellent much better now with new update fixing the overuse of resources

Long-time favorite of mine, but I went back to 6.x almost immediately after installing 7.0. New graphics are just simply worse (harder to read) than the old ones. (Also, frankly, the new color schemes are awful.) While some of the new features are nice, none of them overcome this. Big miss by the developer. Will probably have to find an alternative since the old version probably won't be compatible with newer OS versions. Such a shame.
